We show off our personal public library cards. It was a proud day when both girls received their own card.

Olivet Students meet Author Jody Nyasha Warner

The grades 2 to 4 went to the Eatonville library to meet Jody Nyasha Warner, the author who wrote the book “Viola Desmond Won’t be Budged”. This is a very interesting book about a piece of Canadian history which took place in Nova Scotia in 1946, when a woman by the name of Viola Desmond was told she could not sit in the front seat section of the theatre because only white people could sit there. This was not fair, and Viola Desmond fought to have this injustice changed. We asked Ms. Warner to sign our school copy of her book and soon it will be in the library for everyone to read!!

Playschool's Library

Playschool participates in the TD Canadian Children's Book Week (Nov 15 to 21). Our letter of the week is "Bb" for books. During the month of November we are learning about people in our community and their jobs. Our local librarian has visited our school to talk about her job and shared books with us during her story time circle.

Welcome to Playschool's dramatic play library. Eliza and Gabriela are role playing librarians.

Many children come to our library to make a book selection.

Grace reads to Madeline.

Luka enjoys a comfy chair and a good book.

Check out time.

These books are going home!
