There is always something fun happening in the Kindergarten Classroom!
At Olivet School we believe the best education happens when a child’s love for learning is fully engaged. Our teachers work with parents to prepare children for a fulfilling and useful life on earth that leads to life in heaven. Participating in the Forest of Trees Reading Program
Olivet is participating in the Forest of Trees reading program run by the Ontario library Association (OLA). The older students were paired up with students from the Primary Class and together they read the Blue Spruce level books. This further develops the older student’s ability to read aloud, encourages the younger students to practice their reading skills, and allows the younger students to accomplish their reading goals for the program.

Operation Christmas Child
We received this email from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the shoebox collection centre we send our school's Operation Christmas Child boxes to.
We are really excited to be able to report to you that your involvement with Operation Christmas Child this past season has brought an overall increase in gift filled shoeboxes of 5%! This is great news. Having each of you partner with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church – OCC Regional Collection Centre – has made the “Operation” of this great ministry possible. In Canada we brought in 672,274 shoeboxes in the 2011 season. Each gift filled shoebox will reveal God’s unconditional love to a child and also serve as a Gospel opportunity. Our shoeboxes will go to Central & South America, West Africa and Haiti. We could not do it without you.”
God Bless you all,
The OCC Team at St. Andrew’s Collection Center

Ontario Science Centre
The grade 5 and 6 students have been learning about flight in class. This was the perfect opportunity to go to the Ontario Science Centre and see the exhibit Leonardo da Vinci’s Workshop and the grades 3 and 4 went along. The students tried on wings, worked as a team to build a self-supporting bridge, created electricity by peddling, some of the students event touched the Van de Graaff Generator, and much more! All in all, the field trip was a great opportunity for some fun hands-on learning.
