We wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
At Olivet School we believe the best education happens when a child’s love for learning is fully engaged. Our teachers work with parents to prepare children for a fulfilling and useful life on earth that leads to life in heaven. We provide stimulating academics and meaningful social interactions combined with a caring atmosphere. For more information visit our website or contact us.

Playschool is Celebrating Christmas!
There is a lot going on in the Playschool class this week as we get ready for Christmas!
Students read Christmas stories.
Ms.
Williams reads and acts out La Nativité: Bébé Jésus, Marie et Joseph, L’Ange
visite Marie for the students.
Students get to play with Santa’s
beard, as they manipulate shaving cream to give Santa a new look.
Roll the die and see how many dots to place on the picture.
Children learn about hygiene and taking care of others, as
they get to bathe their own baby Jesus.

Operation Christmas Child
We
donated 39 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes!! Woohoo!! Many thanks to all at
Olivet, teachers and families, for their generous support of Operation
Christmas Child!
Each classroom collected donations for their students’ age
group and organized the donations into individual shoeboxes.
The older students helped load up the van with shoe boxes and
unload at St. Andrews. The students
enjoyed their time there and got a little better idea of the scope of this
project.

Open House
You can drop in to visit the Grade 1-6 classes
from 9am to 12pm this week. Please make
an appointment with Sandy if you would like to visit the Kindergarten Class. You
can take this opportunity to visit the classroom your child will enter next
year.
We're promoting Wednesday, November 21st to the public as an
open house day when people can come by during the morning or evening to get to
know Olivet. Please invite your friends and neighbours; we have plenty of open
house invite cards and brochures. Inviting them to our Facebook page is another
great way to get the word out.

Terry Fox Run
Last Friday the students participated in the
Terry Fox Run. Our run took us from the school to the creek. They ran 1.5km.
The students thought about how difficult it would have been for Terry Fox to
run 40km a day! The students had a great time.

Mississauga Marafun Marathon
This is the first year that Olivet
participated in the Mississauga Marafun Marathon. Olivet is proud to announce that fifteen of our
students ran the 2 km Mississauga Marathon along with some parents and teachers!
Everyone was in fine form and we gathered (all 34 if us!) for a celebratory
lunch! The sun smiled on us and the temperature was perfect. Many thanks to the
parents for their support of this our first Olivet Marafun Marathon!!! See you
next year!
