Meaning Behind Numbers

The day after the municipal elections, we used the numbers to add and subtract, learn about percentage and to analyse the meaning behind the numbers.

Dogs

For "Dd" week the kindergarten had a visit from four fine furry friends. McGraw, Reba, Siesta and Jackson came to school for show and tell! It was so much fun to feed them their doggy snacks and pet their fur! We thanked Grae, Addison, Loryn and their Moms for bringing us their pets to see!

Counting Buttons

Mrs. Cassandra Thomas won our "Guess How Many Buttons" contest. There were 1144 buttons in the jar. Jasmine counted them by putting them into groups of 10 and then groups of 100. That was a LOT of counting!

Visiting the McMichael Gallery

On Tuesday, October 12, Kaylin, Jasmine and Mrs. Pulpan went to the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg. After they enjoyed seeing the original paintings by the Group of Seven, they visited the gravesites on the property.

Algoma Trip

Kaylin and Jasmine are learning about the Group of Seven this term and later in the term they will be learning about Canada. What better way to combine these units than to take trip to Ontario’s North to see the Canadian Shield , Lake Superior and the beautiful fall colours so evident in those Canadian paintings.

Chatting with Ken Whiteley, who kindly signed the girls’ journals.

When life gives you lemons- make LEMONADE!

If you don't want pulp, you have to pour it through a strainer.

Squeezing lemons is hard work!

Lemons are yummy!
