The Primary class has been making awesome Halloween crafts in class.
They have Mod Podged their own mason jar jack o'lanterns.

And even painted some pumpkins!

Autumn Baskets

The Junior Room students made decorative spooky autumn baskets in art class this week. They walked down to the nearby creek and field area and found natural decor for their arrangements. They then designed them to their liking and added their own Halloween flair to each one.

Raking Leaves

Today was a fabulous opportunity to get out and experience a fall day.

A cool, overcast day, wearing boots and coats while raking wet leaves into a pile. We each took turns to participate in our action verse. Later, we ran to catch falling leaves disturbed by the wind. Some friends actually caught some!

Apple Picking

The Kindergarten and Primary Classes went apple picking last week at Orchalaw Farms.

They had fun playing in the hay.

Took a wagon ride out to the apple orchard.

They picked and ate apples for the rest of the day!

The Primary Class used their apples to make apple sauce, and it was delicious!

Eat your vegetable harvest soup

Yesterday, Playschool had an opportunity to use their senses to explore a variety of vegetables. We washed, touched, smelled, cut and tasted many of them. Today, we enjoyed the "fruits of our labour" for snack, as the children enjoyed eating their vegetable harvest soup.

As well, the harvest store in the dramatic play centre has been very popular as children recreate their personal experiences at the grocery store and farmers market purchasing produce.
