Talent Show!

Today, as part of a very special music class, the students from JK through Grade Three were all part of talent show production. Some students performed and others were official audience members. Everyone had a good time. The picture above shows the Grade Three students with the puppets that they made for one of their presentations.

Rain Coat Kids

As part of the primary room's "April Showers Bring May Flowers" bulletin board, the students made these wonderful little raincoat characters. Notice that a photo of each student's face was used to personalize the experience. This is an easy, fun project that can be done at home as well!

ONCS Playschool gets global press

The most recent issue of "Around the New Church" features on the back cover our very own Judy Todd and a handful of playschool students. This publication is sent to church members and supporters around the globe, and I think it's great that our little program is so wonderfully represented by such happy smiling faces!

Headed in the Right Direction?

One of the consistent difficulties plaguing visitors to our church and school is a sense of confusion upon entering our main doors. This stems from the fact that they are confronted with two sets of stairs but no indication of which direction will get them to their desired destination. Once again drawing on the genius of Sandy Bradfield, we have solved the problem...at least for now. Just today we installed a big, bright directional sign indicating to our guests which set of stairs will get them where they need to be. Soon, we'll have additional signage in place that will aid in directing folks after they have successfully navigated the stairwell.

Hey, it's us!

Sometimes it's fun to see yourself "larger than life." Here we have the kindergarten class posing in front of the banner that portrays three of them.

Dino-mite Dinosaur Projects

The intermediate room has been working on their dinosaur research projects. They have produced some very impressive stuff including informational posters and short stories. It's fun to watch kids get involved in work that they can really sink their teeth into!

Fun With Movement

Nobody likes to sit behind a desk all day. The Primary Room had a great time moving to a soundtrack with some creative movement excercises. The two pictures below show them pretending to be a big bell and acting like wiggly fishes!

Tasty Towers

In celebration of "Rr" week, the Kindergarten made Rice Krispy Treat Creations. This is the best kind of work...the kind that doubles as a snack!
